endres sxr harley sportster before after 1 thSteve Endres from Bradford, NH ordered my stuff in January and received it in March (pretty much my production lag). Steve captured the waiting time by prepping his bike.

I think the before/after photos of his bike are most illustrative. My kit does not cost a fortune (like others) but it really transforms a Sporty (and its resale value if you're inclined). At Steve’s get-in price for the bike and my kit he was looking at a cost of 33 hundred bucks not including tires and other stuff.

Here’s what Steve had to say.

I live in New Hampshire, and I was looking for a bike that would be good for cruising around on some of the local dirt roads. I’ve always been a Harley guy, and ever since getting a few of Allan Girdler’s books in the 80s, I’ve wanted an XR750.

I was able to pick up this 1988 Sportster 1200 for under $2000. As with many 25+ year old Sportsters, there were lots of backyard repairs that I fixed. I replaced and upgraded almost all of the wiring and added LED lighting all around. I added 15” progressive suspension and Supertrapp XR style pipes. I bought a 19” front wheel off eBay and, using your conversion kit, turned it into my rear wheel and put on Continental TKC80 tires front and rear.

I pulled off the forward controls and added Chainsikle rearsets. I fabricated a headlight mount which also mounted the front signals, allowing me to remove two bolts, unclip a Deutsch connector, and remove the entire assembly. The engine came with an S&S carb and high compression pistons.

Obviously, I added your tank and tail section. I must say, I am impressed with the quality of your products. Being able to get them in orange is awesome, and saves a ton of time and money for paint. I got the body kit Friday night and was riding by Saturday morning. At this point I’ve only got a couple miles on the bike, but I am really excited to get out and ride.

Thanks for making great parts at a decent price.

~ Steve
